Dog/s welcome by arrangement

We do not accept any breed which is deemed dangerous by government legislation, i.e. American Pit Bull, Japanese Tosa, etc.
There is No Charge for Guide Dogs or RNIB Puppy-walker's Dogs. You must bring baskets, bedding, etc for your dog.
Under no circumstances are dogs allowed on beds or other furniture. Dogs must not be allowed to foul on, or in, the ground or property.
We reserve the right to levy an additional charge for cleaning, etc. if required. Dogs are NOT to be left unattended in the property.

Mallard Lodge nestles on the edge of The Howgills, adjacent to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National parks. Ravenstonedale village is one mile away.  Artlegarth lodges are only 10 minutes' drive from the M6.  Kirkby Stephen is 5 miles away and offers shops and a railway station located on the famous Settle-Carlisle line.

 Ideal base for outdoor pursuits, wildlife, castles, market towns and peaceful villages. Artlegarth lodges provide outstanding quality & comfort with views from all windows and doors towards the fells and hills.  There is also a private sitting-out area on a part glazed veranda, the ideal place to relax after a day exploring.

         

From the moment you drive through the gates, you will be impressed with Mallard Lodge. Located in a most attractive position on our private site of just 3 log cabins. To the rear of the lodge is ample parking for 3 cars and  a small brook shaded by tall pine trees.  To the front and side are open lawn areas ideal for the kids to play.  Magnificent views from every window. The careful positioning of each lodge takes full advantage of the sun and fantastic panoramic views across to Wild Boar Fell and the Howgills.  Mallard is very spacious [A true family size lodge] constructed from the finest Pine logs with a local stone base and black slate roof, blending sympathetically into the surroundings.

It is an exceptionally outstanding location offering privacy,  peace and breathtaking views.  {The nearest lodge is over 500 yards away} Excellent for families, fantastic for smaller groups, romantic getaways,

wildlife often seen from the lodge are Wood peckers * Red Squirrels * Rabbits * Herons * Ducks * Owls * Buzzards.

 Our Shetland Ponies can also be seen in  the field Facing the lodge

Accommodation/Details  

  Mallard  Lodge Sleeps up to 6, {4 adults 2 teenagers / children + Baby) 3 bedrooms.
 

o        Kitchen, full electric cooker , microwave , electric kettle , toaster , Fridge.

o        Dining room, large oak table seats 6.

o         Spacious  relaxing Living room with log or coal effect  fire, sofas, chairs.  Wide-Screen 

 TV,  Video, DVD,  SKY FREE-2-VIEW,  Music system,  bookcase with books & small selection of DVDs / Videos etc.

o        Bathroom with Bath * Over bath Shower *wall mounted fan heater * heated towel rail * Full mirror * Shaver point. 


Bedrooms 3

o         King-size bed, Pine wardrobe and dressing table , bedside units, color TV- spectacular views; Twin bedded room with 2 x full-size single beds ,Wardrobe , dressing table-spectacular views. Bedroom 3 Bunk beds  for children or teenagers.

o       
Linen: We supply all bed linen but please bring your own towels.

Laundry room: washing machine,   Iron and ironing board. hairdryer.

o       
Outside: table, garden chairs, barbecue area picnic bench, lot of space.  Parking: For 3 cars.

Dogs : by arrangement only .There is a surcharge. (£20.00 pr pet * pr week). 2 small dogs or 1 larger type!

Changeover day: Saturday. Arrival - after 4 pm, Departure - by 10.00 am (unless agreed otherwise.)

Electricity:  meter reading at end of stay.payable in cash

Mallard Lodge .Although pets are welcome in Mallard our rigorous cleaning and care guarantees the lodge will be presented thoroughly cleaned and free of any evidence of pets.
